About Recliner Brewing

I'm Patrick, head brewer at Recliner Brewery and a beer fan for over 20 years. My dad was a homebrewer. I brewed with friends for several years, lifting and stirring things, all while learning the process. In 2025, I bought an electric all-in-one 35L Brewzilla brewery system and started brewing all-grain online recipes based off famous beers. It wasn't long until I created some of my own recipes and they were just as good, if not better!

I've brewed pales, darks, stouts, porters, IPAs and low alcohol beers and I'm not done investigating styles and flavours yet. I like to keep my fermenters full so there's always beer in the pipeline. Thanks to some generous donations, I also have a lot of empty beer bottles in my apartment, and I'm excited to fill 'em up with something tasty!

My favourite styles are dark beers, pale ales and IPAs, but there's also something beautiful about a simple, cold beer that goes down fast. I'm less excited about sour beers and other yeast-driven styles, but I'll get around to them someday.

Recliner Brewery has teamed up with VICE Events to provide beers for their launch party and sponsor packs. Together we designed a low-alcohol smoked beer that's still distinctly Australian, and it's a damn good drop I must say! Very open to helping out other events in future.

As for the brewery itself, who knows where the brewing journey meanders next. But if you're someone who likes beer, wants beer or makes beer, I'm around.
